KU takes pride in its open, research-friendly working atmosphere promoting researchers’ initiative and commitment and providing offers that are tailored to individual needs. It has an exceptionally well-equipped library, research and media labs and groups that facilitate interdisciplinary research. The KU supports the promotion of early-career researchers on their paths to scientific qualification.
A focus on transformation and sustainability, a human-centered view of the world and its processes and practice-oriented research at the intersection of "Human - Nature - Digitalization - Society" is reflected in the classical fields of the humanities and social sciences and in mathematics, natural sciences (geosciences), economics and psychology.
