The University of Bayreuth is once again among the top 10 universities in Germany in the subjects of law and economics. In the WirtschaftsWoche University Ranking 2022, it is - as in the previous year - the only smaller university in Germany to achieve a place in the top group in these subjects. The ranking is based on the assessment of HR managers from SMEs and industry, and once again shows that doors on the job market are wide open for Bayreuth graduates.

For this year's WirtschaftsWoche university ranking, more than 500 HR managers from companies with ten to several thousand employees were surveyed. They provided information on which universities and universities of applied sciences they prefer to recruit their employees from. The University of Bayreuth was ranked eighth in law and ninth in economics. The personality of the applicants is particularly important for the companies surveyed, but social commitment as well as studies is also gaining in importance. Applicant independence and empathy are rated higher than in previous years.

"At the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics at the University of Bayreuth, in addition to teaching outstanding professional skills, we place great value on the personal development of our students in order to prepare them for responsible leadership positions. This includes a pronounced sensitivity for questions of ethics and communication, but also an open-mindedness for ground-breaking topics of the future. Digitalisation, sustainability, globalisation - for example in the areas of energy, mobility, telecommunications, health, and nutrition - are central cross-cutting issues in all law and economics degree programmes," says Prof. Dr. Jörg Schlüchtermann, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Business & Economics.

Invitation to Campus Day on 9 July 2022

On Saturday, 9 July 2022, the University of Bayreuth will hold an information day for law, business & economics as part of this year's Campus Day. High school graduates and prospective students from Germany and abroad are cordially invited to this event. They will gain first-hand insights into law studies as well as the economics and business studies programmes at the University of Bayreuth.

The Upper Franconian campus university traditionally focuses on "quality over uantity" - and not only in the *classical" study programmes such as "Law (State Examination)", "Business Administration (Bachelor/Master)," and Economics "(Bachelor/Master)". Numerous study programmes are unique in Germany and are characterised by a close networking of different subjects on the Bayreuth campus. For example, there are the supplementary courses in economics and technology, the supplementary course "International Legal Studies" and the supplementary course "Computer Science and Digitalisation" for law students, as well as interdisciplinary courses such as "Law and Economics", "International Economics and Development", "Health Economics", "Sports Economics", and "Philosophy & Economics". Law students interested in an international dual degree are offered the "German-French Bachelor of Law (LL.B. and Licence Mention Droit)" and the "German-Spanish Bachelor of Law (LL.B. and Grado en Derecho)".
