The University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) is one of the four biggest Universities of Applied Sciences in Bavaria. Its strategic focus is on internationalisation, digitalisation (esp. AI and robotics) as well as networking. There are more than 42 degree programmes as well as eight scientific institutes. FHWS is characterised by the close contact between students, lecturers and companies as well as the many hands-on projects offered.

Applied Research

At FHWS, digitalisation is an important stimulus for the transfer of knowledge and technology into the professional world. In addition, FHWS is increasing its research on robotics and AI and is setting a sustainable focus in research by Zero Carbon.

Main Research Areas

Our main research takes place in the following areas: energy technology and efficiency, people and mobility, digital and intelligent systems. In addition to research activities undertaken by professors, there are eight application-oriented institutes as well as almost one hundred laboratories supporting research at FHWS.
